For my graduation project at the Istanbul Fashion Academy, I designed a capsule collection for the Nocturne brand, combining timeless elegance with sustainability. The foundation of the collection lies in the use of 100% bamboo fabric, a choice I made to not only highlight aesthetic beauty but also emphasize environmental responsibility. This fabric, chosen for its eco-friendly properties, embodies my respect for nature and my commitment to recycling.
I wove the fabric using the jacquard technique, incorporating a design I had created, and then printed the same design onto the fabric to add a modern touch.
In this collection, I explored two distinct uses for the fabric: the printed fabric, used in blouses and skirts, creates a dynamic yet refined aesthetic, while the unprinted fabric, made into trousers, reflects a more minimalist approach. These designs showcase the aesthetic power and functionality of the fabric in different forms.
During the presentation, Arya Önder’s graceful and unique presence truly captured the spirit of my designs. She transformed the story of my collection and my connection to nature into a visual journey. This collection is more than just a fashion line—it’s a step toward a sustainable future, symbolizing the intersection of nature’s respect and aesthetic beauty.
